Where Herbal Learning Comes to Life
As I sit down to write to you today, I am still basking in the joy of having the Essential Herbalism Medicine Circle gathered in my home yesterday. We met for the final gathering of our six month journey and joyfully got messy making High Iron Syrup and offering ourselves herbal facials.
This group spanned a wide range of ages and backgrounds, yet they formed a beautiful, supportive community with a shared intention to learn about herbs and to truly use them in everyday life. They asked thoughtful, engaging questions and were not afraid to dig in, hands deep in herbs and full of curiosity.
Over these months, they experienced herbs as teas, tinctures, oxymels, and more. They created new recipes and generously shared them with one another (hello, lemon balm and elderberry oxymel!). When someone, or a family member, was not feeling well, they reached out for herbal support and received so much care and wisdom from the group.
This is how I believe herbalism is meant to be learned: hands on, in community, woven into real life as we move through both beauty and struggle.
