Join herbalist Kirsten Dehmlow of Under the Linden Tree for a gentle walk in the park to learn about the magic of cottonwood buds. In early spring, these fragrant buds are full of the resin that will soon become leaves. Herbalists prize them for their soothing and anti-inflammatory properties.
During this 1.5-hour outdoor class we will:
Learn how to identify cottonwood trees
Talk about the traditional and modern uses of cottonwood buds
Practice ethical harvesting
Collect a small amount of buds to take home
Participants will leave with cottonwood buds and instructions for making their own infused oil or balm.
Come ready to walk slowly, connect with the trees, and experience one of spring’s most beloved herbal gifts.
Class fee: $15
