A Place for Herbs, Learning, and Gathering Together
My Essential Herbalism Foundations and Hands-On Medicine Circle, which began in January, had its final gathering on Sunday.
I love taking my students to different parts of our state to see what plants are growing, and I also love introducing them to other herbalists so they can experience the many ways this work can be practiced. Herbalism can be so individual, and each herbalist brings their own unique gifts and offerings.
Yesterday we visited my friend Francis. She owns Frogworks and creates beautiful aromatherapy products for both humans and animals. She gave us a tour of her land, introduced us to the plants growing there, and guided us in creating an herbal facial spritzer.
I love these opportunities for students to see that herbalism is not a single path. There are so many ways to connect with the plants and share their gifts with the world.
A Dream Years in the Making
It has been a full and joyful week here as well. A project I have been dreaming about for many years is finally nearing completion. We enclosed the porch on our home, and it has become my new apothecary.
I was so touched when some of my students showed up on Friday to help me move in. As I write this, I am sitting at my new desk looking out onto the backyard. There are windows on every side, and the light is incredible.
I have imagined this space for years—a place for herbs, learning, and gathering together.
I am still working on getting everything organized, but stay tuned for an upcoming herb and garden open house. I am so excited to share this space with you!
Working Together
This new apothecary has been a dream of mine for years—a place for herbs, learning, and gathering together. While I look forward to welcoming groups into the space, some of my favorite moments are the quiet ones: sitting across from a woman, listening to her story, and exploring how the plants might support her.
If you are feeling the need for support this season, I offer individual herbal consultations rooted in deep listening, plant wisdom, and holistic care. Whether you are navigating hormonal changes, digestive concerns, stress, sleep challenges, or simply longing to feel more connected to yourself, I would be honored to walk alongside you.
