Transform your garden memories into lasting clay art while deepening your relationship with the healing plants growing around you.
In this hands-on workshop, you will design a unique 10 x 13 inch ceramic wall hanging using live plants harvested from your own backyard. Through botanical pressings, you’ll capture the delicate textures and organic beauty of leaves, fern fronds, and flowers in clay. The surface will be finished with ceramic stains to highlight the intricate details of the plants, creating a piece suitable for hanging in your home or garden.
Alongside the clay work, Kirsten of Under the Linden Tree will guide participants in exploring fennel — a plant long treasured for supporting digestion and soothing the belly. Together, we will create a fennel glycerite, a sweet herbal extract that participants will take home, while learning about the medicinal qualities of fennel and the simple beauty of making herbal remedies by hand.
This workshop invites us to slow down, engage the senses, and deepen our connection to the plants through both art and herbal medicine.
What to Bring:
• Fresh plants from your garden such as flat leaves, fern fronds, or textured blooms
• Avoid dry or brittle plant material, as it will not press well
• We will also have plants available to use
No prior clay experience is necessary. All tools, clay, glazes, herbal materials, and kiln firings are included.
