Hydrosols for Herbalists: A Distillation Journey A Living Medicine for Skin & Spirit

  • Under the Linden Tree LLC (map)

I am thrilled to be hosting Lauren in my garden and to offer her teachings to you all.

Born from the ancient alchemy of steam and plant, hydrosols carry the soft breath and subtle intelligence of the herbs they’re crafted from. This living botanical mist is both gentle and potent, clarifying toner, a mood-lifting whisper, a reviver for spirit, and a purifier for sacred spaces. Each drop holds the plant’s soul medicine, offering deep hydration, gentle toning, and a quiet invitation to return to your senses.

In this immersive workshop, we’ll step into the enchanting world of aromatic herbs through hands on distillation with an old fashioned copper still. Together, we’ll craft a fresh hydrosol - your own medicinal plant water to take home and explore the meeting place where aromatic Materia Medica and plant-centered alchemy converge.

Come learn the art, feel the magic, and let the plants speak through the mist.

About our teacher:

Immersed in the verdant world of herbalism, Lauren Ann Nichols-Sheffler blossomed at the Colorado School of Clinical Herbalism, where she earned her certificate in medical herbalism. Rooted in deep reverence for crafting herbal remedies with land and place, she champions bioregional herbalism and reciprocal bonds between plants, people, and place.

For seven years, Lauren has specialized in herbal distillation - hand crafting hydrosols from fresh plants and tending this ancestral art with precision and heart.

Her dedication to education and sustainability shines through guest teaching for community herbalism courses, teaching at CSCH, supporting the Sustainable Herbs Initiative, stewarding wild lands, and hosting community classes at her United Plant Savers Botanical Sanctuary in Denver, CO.

As Senior Sourcing & Purchasing Manager at WishGarden Herbs, she weaves her passion for ethical sourcing and botanical stewardship into every aspect of the supply chain - cultivating a future where plants and people thrive together.

  • We will do a lunch potluck: I will plan to have some chicken salad to share and will let you all fill in the rest!
